J. Michael Boyd, CRE,
SIOR
Mike
Boyd has been active in the commercial real estate industry since
1972 and is a nationally recognized specialist in industrial and
investment property brokerage. Prior to launching the firm in 1977,
he worked as an industrial broker in the Houston office of Coldwell
Banker Commercial Real Estate Group.
Through
active involvement in the most prestigious trade and professional
organizations, Mike has played a significant role in making the
decisions that shape the industry. Mike served as the Chairman
of the Society of Industrial and Office Realtor (SIOR in 1999) and
President of CORFAC International, a global network of 60 independent
commercial real estate brokerage firms serving markets across North
America, Europe and the Far East. In addition, he has served
as Chairman of the Commercial Investment Division of the Texas Association
of Realtors (TAR), a Board Member of the Houston Association of
Realtors (HAR) and Chairman of its Commercial Committee; and as
a national instructor and Trustee of the Education Trust Fund of
SIOR. Twice he has been selected as SIOR Instructor of the
Year.
Mike
was the winner of several SIOR awards, including Largest International
Transaction – 1999 and 2006, Largest “Other” Transaction – 1999,
Largest Investment Transaction – 1998 and the Largest Intra-city
Industrial Transaction – 1996. He was the Commercial Professional
of the Year for HAR in 1993 and runner up in 1999. Mike was
the Industrial Broker of the Year for the Houston Chapter of the
National Association of Industrial and Office Professionals (NAIOP)
in 1992 and 2000 and was runner up in 1998 and 1999. Mike
also won the “Lone Star Award” for the Best Commercial Transaction
in Texas in 2000 which was awarded by the Texas Association of Realtors.
Mike achieved his
professional designations of Counselor of Real Estate (CRE) in 1997
and SIOR in 1980. Mike is currently a member of the Real Estate
Research Advisory Committee at Texas A & M University and Trustee
of the Boyd Foundation Charitable Trust. Mike received B.S.
and M.S. degrees in Business Management from Louisiana State University.
